The LFCA Committee is proud to announce that Mr Ken Friar of Arsenal FC has agreed to become our new President.

Ken Friar (pictured above) was previously one of the longest serving Chairman of this Association and has always been a great Patron of it.
He becomes only the third President of this Association since its inception.

Ken began working for Arsenal Football Club part time as a 12 year old so that in October 2011 a bronze statue of him (pictured above) was erected to mark his 60 years with the Club.

At the same time the North Bridge linking the Emirates Stadium to Drayton Park was named the “Ken Friar Bridge”.  He has had a fantastic rise from office boy through to Club Secretary in 1973 and then onto Managing Director in 1983 so that the awards which have been bestowed on him have been truly deserved.

These apart from what has already been stated include an OBE in 2000 for “Services to Football” and the “Freedom of the London Borough of Islington in 2004.  It is little wonder that he has been referred to as one of the greatest men in Arsenal’s history.

We were delighted when Ken agreed to take over as Chairman of the LFCA from the late Bob Wall, a post which he held for some 10 years overseeing a particularly successful time for this Association.  He handed over to another Arsenal favourite Bob Wilson.

We are now even more delighted that Ken has agreed to become our President only the third in our history following on from Founder Sir Walter Winterbottom and then Jimmy Hill.
