New Chairman !

We are delighted to announce that Tony Carr has agreed to become the 8th Chairman of the LFCA since its inception.

Tony was appointed West Ham Director of Youth Development in 1973 (by the late John Lyall) having himself been a former graduate of the youth team. His playing career was cut short by injury by the time he had graduated to the Hammer’s youth and reserve sides. He also played one season for Barnet FC.

Tony remained as head of the West Ham Academy until 2014 when he took up a 2 year role as Ambassador for the club and has only recently left West Ham after 43 years of service there.
Known as a legend of young player development he has brought through the likes of Tony Cottee, Paul Allen, Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole, Jermaine Defoe and Glen Johnson amongst many others. He managed West Ham to their FA Youth Cup win in 1999.

The author of a couple of books on Youth Coaching he was awarded an MBE for services to football in 2010 and recently put on an excellent session for the Association at our Arsenal Hub venue..
