Welcome to the updated London Football Coaches Association website.
The season 2013/14 having just ended it is perhaps time to have a report on the same. Well we had sessions from last September onward and most of these were practical ones including those from our new Chairman John Cartwright who covered both an indoor and outdoor session; further outdoor sessions by Neil Banfield of Arsenal; John McDermott of Spurs; Peter Shreeves ex- Spurs manager; Leyton Orient’s Lee Southernwood & Kevin Nugent who worked on conditioning games;
Our own Committee member Francis Tardioli who set out work from the FA Youth Modules and an indoor meeting with a representative from Prozone who explained how their system works for coaches and managers, which followed on from our AGM.
An important decision was made during the season on the qualification for membership and that was to return to the principle laid down by our founder Sir Walter Winterbottom, namely that it be open to all who have an interest in coaching and to encourage those without coaching qualifications to get them.
We are, therefore, looking forward to the new season where we have already had offers from some excellent coaches to put on sessions.
A membership form can be down loaded from this site and we hope that current members will renew and new members will be encouraged to join.
We have always had a great relationship with Arsenal FC to we wish to congratulate a London Club in winning the FA Cup this last season. Amazingly not only did they do this by not leaving London but the feat was not unique because they did not leave London when they won it in 1950.
Also congratulations to Queens Park Rangers for getting promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs
Finally congratulations also to Arsenal Ladies for winning the Women’s FA Cup- this for the 13th time.
